While St. George didn’t make the National Association of Realtor’s list of top vacation homes spots, it is notably one of the favorite destinations in Utah (click here if you are interested in reading the report). With warm weather year round and a plethora of activities, there is something for everyone. Many flock to the area in the winter to escape the cold, making it an ideal location for a second home or vacation rental.  Many neighborhoods popping up are catering to this mindset with low maintenance and high amenities (think: swimming pools with FUN slides, pickle ball, tennis, hot tubs etc). Whether you are staying in Washington, Santa Clara or St. George proper, you are always minutes away from something fun.

As of the date of publishing this post there are condos priced as low as $130,000, making a second home or rental a real possibility. During a recent trip to check out some vacation rentals, we visited some of our favorite spots around Washington County. Click here if you want to search for homes on the MLS.

One of our favorite hikes is the Red Reef Trail just outside of Leeds. It’s a short, fun hike for all ages. Depending on the season, there may be water in the stream and a waterfall for you to slide down into a pool.

The ever popular Pioneer Park offers 52 acres of climbing fun, right in the city.

The Red Hills Garden is a 5-acre conservation garden. Throughout the year they sponsor free events, such as the Scarecrow Walk and Haunted Canyon as shown above.

The famous carousel in the historic downtown area offers $1 rides. While you are there you can play in the splash pad and visit the Children’s Museum.

If you want a little adventure, take your ATV on one of the many trails near Sand Hollow Reservoir. You can even ride to the Top of the World
ps. If you want a delicious treat, then head into Veyo Pies. Its about 20 minutes from downtown St. George. On the way you can stop at the Snow Canyon Lookout to get some awesome views of Snow Canyon below.
